The Segantini Trio is made up of clarinettist Franco Mettler (Switzer- land), cellist Katharina Weissenbacher (Austria) and pianist Jürg Hansel- mann (Liechtenstein). It is named after the Austrian artist Giovanni Segan- tini who was later stateless and worked mostly in the Swiss canton of Graubünden.
A love of music and the arts, as well as an appreciation of the Alps so often portrayed in Segantini’s work connect these three musicians. Experi- enced in numerous musical styles, the trio focuses on new compositions as well as works containing jazz elements and earlier genres.
